RESEARCH METHOD / PRACTICE GUIDE

Release-prep feedback

What must be resolved before this experience is ready for its intended users?

A repeatable workflow using Plan → Conduct → Report. Adapt recruitment, timing and depth to the decision, participants and evidence available.

  1. 01

    Plan

Define the release scope, intended users and critical tasks. Review known risks and select representative participants, including relevant access needs. Agree how severity and release decisions will be judged before collecting feedback.

  2. 02

    Conduct

Run realistic tasks against the release candidate and capture completion, confusion, errors and recovery. Separate defects from usability problems and feature requests. Reproduce consequential issues and ask participants about the operational impact.

  3. 03

    Report

Prioritize findings by user impact, frequency and confidence. Assign owners, document accepted risks and retest critical fixes. Produce a readiness summary that ties the release decision to evidence and identifies what to monitor after launch.
